Foggy Morning Photoshoot!!

So. I *LOVE* foggy mornings.

It was SO amazingly gorgeous this morning that I went outside to take some pics. And they turned out so awesome, I decided to post them! So. Here they are! :) (if you wanna see 'em bigger, just click on 'em!)

On another note, I was outside a little later and came THIS CLOSE to stepping on a snake!!!! AAAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHH!!! Oh well. It was pretty big. And black. It was right at the edge of the pond and slithered in as soon as I figured out what it was. Not sure exactly what *kind* of snake. Maybe a Plain Bellied Water Snake? I dunno. Whatever. I don't think it was venomous. Aaaaaand I didn't have the camera with me at that particular moment. So. Dang I wish I woulda gotten a pic! Or at least caught it! Ooooh well. Anyway.

Meet Major

The newest member on the Stavinoha farm.  

Isn’t he handsome? I think so too. :)

So. Yes. I promise I thought this day would never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever come. But it has!! Oooooh yeah.

He’s a 16 year old Appendix gelding. For those of you who don’t know, an Appendix is a Thoroughbred-Quarter Horse cross. He’s got the sweetest temperament. Ever.  He’s very gentle with the kids and doesn’t spook at anything. Or hasn’t yet. So. Yep. He’s what they call “bombproof”. And he’s NOT LAZY!! Yay! Yeah lazy horses really bug me. Major is a retired patrol mount and people have also hunted off of him, ridden him on the road with 18-wheelers around, and he’s even been in parades right next to fire trucks!! So noise doesn’t bother him. Which is good because with 8 brothers and sisters, 3 goats, and 4 dogs all making noise at the same time, things can get, in a word, noisy. :) He is also very easy to catch. I can do it with one hand. And have!! Hehe. While talking on the phone. :)

Many thanks to dear Sarah for all her support and awesomeness, without which I would have given up on EVER getting a horse. Thanks SO much, mom and dad for allowing this to EVER happen! And thanks to Mrs. Simms for helping us find him!!!

And the Countdown Begins!!

31 days and counting until..............

PINEY WOODS!!!!!!!! Ooooh yeah. I’m excited.

Every year, on the first weekend of November, our church family does a retreat to an amazingly awesome place called Piney Woods, or PWCC (I….don’t remember what “CC” stands for). It includes all our CREC churches in Texas (or however many of us will FIT! lol). Which include Hockley, Weatherford, Nacogdoches, Ft. Worth, and San Antonio.

I do believe we have gone every year since it started. It’s the most amazingly fun thing we’ve participated in. It’s awesome. LOTS of volleyball, canoeing, long walks, singing, TONS of fellowship, dancing till 3am, helping out in the kitchen (yes, even helping in the kitchen is fun), more volleyball, good friends, more fellowship, more friends, even more volleyball, more dancing, more singing, Duck Duck Goose (ok. It seems babyish, but it’s still FUN!), Spoons, Poker, CatchPhrase, midnight pizza parties, sitting outside in the FREEZING COLD talking for hours on end (with lots of blankets, of course!!), and the best friends you can possibly imagine… It’s all good. And *THIS* year, we’re gonna have a pretty much amazing bonfire (courtesy of Mr. Duke!!) and Shmoes! S’mores. Whatever. And hotdogs. Outside. In the cold. Its gonna be awesome. GAH!! Can you tell I’m UBER excited??? Yeah.

And this is my solemn promise that as soon as I get back from Piney Woods, I'll post lots of pics. Which means I'll take lots of pics. Which means I'll have the camera with me at all times. Or as close to all times as I can. hehe. :)

Letters To Juliet

Well, as the title suggests, I saw Letters to Juliet a couple nights ago.
It was cute! I really liked it. However, I really don't recommend it for younger audiences. There is some very "adult" talk in it as well as some skimpy outfits and couple enthusiastic kisses, but I was impressed in that there were no real "scenes"...which, more often than not, happen to make it into these modern movies. There was a little bit of language, but not much.

Over all, it was a sweet movie and the story was really cute. I loved how Charlie and Sophie argued; that was pretty funny. :) Claire was really sweet, and their quest for the "right" Lorenzo was entertaining.

On a scale of 1-10, I'd give it an 8.5 because of the slightly less than family friendly content.

Oh! and if anyone is wondering, Charlie is MINE!! Ooh yeah. ;)

Enchantedish forestish looking thing that looks really cool. :)

This is on our property. In the brush in the very back. Funny how I never saw it before! I think it looks dreamy and mysterious. Like part of an enchanted forest or something. Isn't it cool??
